Leveraging the latest technology to source and recover uranium ore

In-Situ Recovery Method

Our low-impact in-situ recovery (ISR) mining method is an Australian first. We drill into the ore body and then pump in a solution that dissolves uranium minerals. This enables us to recover the minerals through extraction wells, pumping it to the surface.

Unlike conventional mining, the Four Mile Mine is comprised of well-fields. Depleted wells are rehabilitated, and the area restored.

Once pumped to the surface and taken to the Beverley processing plant, the ore is subjected to ion exchange to recover the uranium oxide, also known as yellow cake. This is dried and packed into drums for shipment.
