Heathgate Story
Like many resource companies around the globe, we extract minerals.
Heathgate Resources, though, is no ordinary mining company. At Heathgate, we like to do things differently… we are a technology company that drives change.
Our ethos is to respect and care for the environment and our community.
We use the latest technology to source and export uranium, the key component of the world’s most reliable, carbon-free source of baseload electricity… nuclear. We are proud of our fundamental role in clean energy.
Let us tell you more…
Heathgate Resources has since 2000 mined uranium in South Australia… first at Beverley and then at Beverley North. Our mining operations are now at the nearby Four Mile Mine, which is in the Frome Basin east of the Flinders Ranges and about 550 kilometres north of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia.
Unlike others in the industry, we use the unique and low impact in-situ recovery (ISR) method to recover uranium ore from underground without shifting earth. Heathgate Resources is an industry leader and, using the very latest in technology, has mined and processed more than 40 million pounds of uranium.
We have invested more than $2 billion in mine infrastructure and plant, engaging with local business partners and suppliers throughout Australia. We continue to generate millions of dollars in royalties and taxes for South Australia and Australia.
We enjoy a collaborative relationship with the Adnyamathanha people, the Native Title Holders and traditional custodians of the land upon which we operate. Positive relationships with Aboriginal communities in areas in which we operate are vital. We are proud that many Adnyamathanha also are our employees.
We have a significant and growing presence in South Australia with more than 200 skilled FIFO staff onsite at Beverley and 40 staff at our Adelaide head office.
Our operations continue to grow as we explore new opportunities in South Australia and Queensland.
